What a Guy Wants or What I Did Instead of Going to the Britney Concert.
I first learned about Christina during my time as the
Roadie for Korn on the Kob, a heavy metal grunge band
from Seattle, Maine. I'm a big Eminem fan and I caught
his show in Memphis one night. When I went backstage to
tell him how awesome his show was, I found him in a
closet with a hot looking blonde on her knees. Anyway, I
got no invite, so I blew outta there. Later on I heard
Christina was headlining at the Grand Olde Opry and I
caught her show the next night. Would you believe it,
she was the same chick I saw the day before, driving a
white '59 T-Bird. What a coincidence!
There are over 500 sites either devoted to Christina or
that have a section about her. The sites I selected as
my top picks are primarily those that have a lot of
pictures and particularly a complete set of the Jam
pictures, which I consider to be the sexiest picture
set.
Despite Christina's desire to be a role model to girls
and not be overtly sexy, there are certainly a large
number of pictures that will definitely appeal to her
male audience. Legmen might be a little disappointed,
but there's some head shots that are just plain
beautiful. Other pictures of note are Christina
modelling her Grammy dress, covers of Entertainment
Magazine and The Best of the Next, and what can best be
described as "Little Girl in Red". Also not to be
missed are
recent pictures from Rolling Stone magazine.
Even though I primarily looked for pictures, I also
looked for multimedia sections with video and audio
selections plus lyrics.
Note: Sky Magazine is starting to request that their
pictures be removed. In most of these Christina is
wearing a black top and red leather pants.
With all of those sites you'd think there's not a person
alive who doesn't adore Christina. Think again,
cretin! There are a number of anti-Christina
sites, some of which are really nasty, but some are fun.

The Christina Aguilera Official Website
This is what a celebrity website should be, full
of information about the celebrity and things
for the fan. All of the information seems to be
current and includes news, concert/TV
appearances and The Rumor Mill, which is my
favourite section as it supplies the facts
straight from the source. Along with The Rumor
Mill, the short biography is used by a lot of
the fan sites set up on the Internet. Also used
by a lot of sites are the songs found here -
there are 13 Real Audio soundclips from her
debut album and 7 specialty tracks. The videos,
however, are from
Peeps Republic
which has been referred to as an official
website, but is really a general music site.
The full-length version of "Genie in a
Bottle" is here as well as clips from The
Making of Genie in a Bottle plus some
interviews. I am a little disappointed in the
selection of pictures as they are so few - only
23 pictures, mostly from her debut album and
some publicity shots. But, any fan will like to
get a membership to Christina's Fan Club, talk
about her in the Chat room or send a Digital
Greeting Card. And the more web-oriented fan
might like the help provided by Xoom to setup a
Christina site or email account. This is the
site to check first when you ask yourself,
"I wonder what's up with Christina
Aguilera?"

Christina Aguilera: Somebody's Somebody
Well done, Ashley! This site is, without a
doubt, the one with the most feeling and
sincerity. Ashley is to be commended for being
truly honest about her admiration, most notably
the personal message to Christina. I like the
presentation and use of a central frame where
everything is displayed. I also like that
Ashley keeps the site informative and fresh by
updating it several times a month. All of the
sections are well planned and laid out and are
filled with interesting details about Christina.
While a more complete review might include
comments on each individual section, I am going
to concentrate on the multimedia aspects of the
site. The reason I began my Christina search is
because I think she's pretty, therefore, a nice
gallery of pictures is high on my list for
recommending a site. Besides having the entire
Jam picture set, there's over 600 other pictures
all listed and indexed by topic. Ashley even
has pictures from Rolling Stone magazine, which
have proven to be somewhat controversial (see
The Rumor Mill
at Christina's official website). It goes
without saying that Christina is beautiful, but
she is also a singer. Ashley has gathered
soundclips from both Christina's official
website and Peeps Republic - all the songs from
Christina's debut album can be found here.
Lyrics to all of the songs are also listed.
Videos are not yet represented, but are coming
soon. My one last indulgence regarding this
site is the Hangman game using lyrics from
Christina's songs - enable JavaScript and test
your knowledge. This is the best overall
Christina site and should be referenced by all
of her fans.

Christina's Corner
This site is the better of the two Christina's
Corner sites I found and has been developed for
an international audience with sites for
English, German and French (a Spanish site is
planned). The first thing I like about this
site is the wallpaper; none of that bland stuff
found at other sites. I also like the use of
pop-up windows (JavaScript must be enabled),
which makes the site easy to navigate. There
are four main sections: Christina, multi-media,
fans only and links. Besides the "Dream
Come True" biography, FAQs and updates, the
Christina section has over 800 pictures listed.
I really like the layout as the pictures are
listed in categories and then indexed, which
makes it easy to find the pictures you want.
Each picture is thumbnailed and enlarges to a
reasonably sized image. The 26 soundclips in
the multi-media section are mostly from
Christina's debut album or variations of What a
Girl Wants and employ different formats, some of
which are resident on this site. Song lyrics
are found with the soundclips, which is very
useful. The five music videos come from other
various sites. Articles and reviews are also
found in the multi-media section, which I think
more properly belong in the Christina section.
The fans only section includes greeting cards,
polls, message boards, clubs and support for
Christina.

Christina Central
This site might best be described as Christina's
library as there is so much information
available. The first thing you've got to know
about this site is you need JavaScript enabled.
That's better! Navigation through the site is
not obvious, but it gets better once you figure
out the main sections. Section 1 seems to be
news about the site and little else. Section 2
contains details about Christina, like her
biography, appearances and articles. In
Sections 4 and 6 there's some more site specific
stuff and also fan stuff, like message boards,
chat rooms, emails, etc. Section 4 also
contains a Members Only Page that I'm sure is
worthwhile. Links are found in Section 5.
Section 3 is the heart of the site and contains
all the multimedia pages. The Webmistress is
obviously a collector as there are over 1000
pictures of Christina, from magazines to videos,
from concerts to publicity shots. The Jam
pictures are here as well as other equally sexy
ones. I don't think I would be far wrong in
saying if it's not here, it doesn't exist.
Sounds are in abundance with most of the
soundclips from Christina's official website and
from other websites as well, although live
performance clips are unique to this site. For
the most part, videos come from Peeps Republic
and MTV and include music videos, concerts, and
interviews. Closing out Section 3 are Lyrics
and Discography pages.

Xtina Aguilera Unofficial Fan Site
This site is best viewed at a resolution of 800
x 600. The menu uses a java applet and is kind
of kooky, but effective. The presentation uses
frames, which I like for navigating a site.
There's quite a bit of information for any fan
and lots of pictures and soundclips. Whereas
most sites link their soundclips to Christina's
official site or Peeps Republic, the soundclips
at this site are resident. This is balanced by
two of the menu items linking to Christina's
site. The 315 pictures are indexed by page,
which adds mystery to what you'll see next. I'm
not really a fan of mystery; I'd rather be able
to find what I'm looking for quickly.

Christina Aguilera
How many Christina sites are managed by a
"staff" of 17 people, all using
pseudonyms? Despite being run by a committee,
the site is well laid out and uses frames to
great effect. The requisite fan stuff is here,
like the chat room, message board and fan club
plus a news section, which appears current.
Don't be fooled by appearances - the 300+
pictures are thumbnailed and some expand to very
large sizes. Each gallery is accessible using
the index at the bottom of the page. The
biggest surprise regarding this site are the
number of videos; over 50 by my count with some
very large, requiring long download times. I
guess Christina fans won't be disappointed, but
I'm not here for the videos.

The Ultimate Christina Aguilera Webpage
Make sure JavaScript is enabled before entering
this site. Once you gain entry by clicking on
the logo, you are asked to enter your name,
which is used on the home page and if you want
to sign the guestbook. After entering your
name, a small pop-up window comes up where the
real stuff is displayed - don't bother expanding
the window as only this one small section is
used. You might not readily find how to start
the show, so may I direct your attention to the
upper left corner... click. I suggest sticking
to the Multi section as most of the others have
very little content for the rabid Christina fan.
There are over 300 pictures, mostly of concerts,
videos and TV appearances; thank God for the Jam
pictures! Most of the 40+ soundclips are
resident on this site, but some are from
Christina's official site. Besides the two
video selections, the only other items of
importance are the discography and lyrics.

Miss Diva Thang
Mostly an information and picture site, the main
menu is presented as a magazine cover with links
to different sections. There are 22 soundclips,
mostly from Peeps Republic. I really like the
picture format. The menu is in a frame to the
left with similar picture sets indexed by page.
The 200+ pictures are thumbnailed and enlarge to
an easy viewing format.

The Best Christina Aguilera Site
I wouldn't say this is the best site, but I've
placed it in the Top 10. Its got all the things
necessary for a Christina fan site: biography,
articles, appearances, lyrics and other
information plus the multimedia stuff. The 19
soundclips and 19 videoclips come in different
formats, some of which are linked to Peeps
Republic. There are over 250 pictures all
indexed by type of picture. None of my
favourite pictures are here, but the site is
worthy from a fan point of view. I like the use
of frames on this site for presentation of the
different sections.

Amazing Christina Aguilera 2000
Despite not having the Jam pictures nor audio or
video sections, I like this site because it uses
frames effectively for a nice clean
presentation. The site mostly contains details
about Christina, which are dated because the
Webmistress only updates the links and pictures.
There are over 350 pictures all thumbnailed and
grouped into 6 galleries with appropriate
indexes.

Christina Aguilera En Espanol
No habla Espanol! You don't need to speak the
language to find the pictures, which are my
reason to select this site. There are over 350
pictures, including those from Jam. For those
so inclined, there are sections on Christina's
album and lyrics plus other things, but there
are no soundclips nor videoclips. Frames are
used, which is a great presentation technique.

Christina Aguilera Forum
Plenty of fan stuff, but very little in the way
of video or audio selections. I guess you'll
have to make do with some of the fun stuff, like
the picture puzzle (enable JavaScript). Some of
the 306 pictures appear to be unique to this
site; not surprising as some were scanned in by
the Webmaster.

Teeny Alligator
This site uses JavaScript so enable it before
entering. I had problems finding the navigation
bar when I first brought the site up, but this
was soon solved by refreshing the page. The
presentation is worthy as it uses frames
effectively for displaying things. I consider
this primarily a picture site as there are few
other Christina items. The 231 pictures are
listed in galleries, but I don't think they've
been indexed in any particular manner. I like
some of the pictures because Christina looks
like a cutey, but most of my favourites are not
here.

Christina in a Bottle
I found four sites with this title; this is the
best one. Dale Carnegie says one should always
start a critique with a compliment... The best
thing about this site are the pictures, which
are overshadowed by weaknesses of the site. The
layout is unremarkable and doesn't really
contribute to the site. I think the
Webmistress, Tiffany, should try to organise her
menu better as the items of most importance are
towards the bottom, where her personal data
should be. Many of the items link to other
sites (i.e., Sounds, Videos, and The Rumor Mill
link to Christina's official website), which I
normally prefer to list instead of the linker.
However, Tiffany has chosen to list Christina's
pictures here and has well over 600, each
thumbnailed and grouped into recognisable
indexes. If you came for the pictures, you're
home. Note: JavaScript is not required at this
site, but if you have it enabled, your cursor
will be followed.

EF3 Celebrities
I'm a nut for good pop-up windows and this site
uses them very effectively (JavaScript must be
enabled). Although the site contains mostly
pictures, there is some information on
Christina, like her biography, lyrics and
articles. There are only 100 pictures, but the
selection is nice and clicking on the thumbnail
brings up the picture in a pop-up window.

This is strictly a picture site with over 200
pictures of Christina in four galleries. The
thumbnails in Gallery 3 don't work, but the
pictures come up fine.

This is one of only a few general sites I picked
as Christina-worthy. Why? Its got a nice
selection of pictures. Entry is easy - select
The Artists on the menu and just ignore the
other girls listed. There are over 150
pictures, all thumbnailed.

A small, but personal fan site by a good-looking
chick. There are only a few full-sized pictures
and some info at this site. I like it because
it is personal and its got a funny page on the
breast implant controversy.

Gazette: a periodical publication giving current
events (The Concise Oxford Dictionary). Well
named, this site updates current information
about Christina at least three times a month and
maintains an archive back to the beginning of
2000 (JavaScript must be enabled to use the
archive). Pictures are sometimes included, like
those from Rolling Stone for the 17 June entry.
Also maintained is information found in The
Rumor Mill at Christina's official site. The
News and Tour sections both have the latest
information about Christina. Soundclips are
planned and coming soon.
